Richard Araya S.
Director - Senior Consultant
Naval Mechanical Engineer, MBA in International Business from Tulane University, Louisiana, USA, and Doctorate in Business Administration with a major in Strategy from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, OH., USA.
He has vast professional and executive experience in private companies in the fields of Mining, Oil, Construction and Industrial Risks, in high-level positions such as: Project Director and Manager at Exxon Co. Minerals and Oil Division, Risk and Compensation Manager at Aetna Seguros Generales SA, Project Director and CEO of construction and industrial assembly companies such as Tribasa SA, Inserco SA and Ameco-Fluor Co. and General Manager and International Director for South America at Golder SA

He is currently a visiting professor in the areas of Strategic Implementation, Strategic Management and Management Control at the Graduate School of the Faculties of Economics and Business of the University of Chile and the University of Development. He is also an independent Director of several medium- sized companies and Senior Consultant in the Natural Resources Industry.
Our origins
Twenty years ago, our founder and director Richard Araya, influenced by the Scottish philosopher David Hume and with the clear idea that knowledge is obtained through practical experience, set out to create a consulting company with the mission of providing personalized solutions, non-standardized, from multidisciplinary theory and personal experience in complex industries, aimed at companies that regardless of their size, can focus on the proposed strategic destination.
Inverness, Scotland is the capital of the Highlands and was the hub for shipping in the medieval era, which navigated in turbulent and aggressive environments, much like the business world today. We are identified by the high view that the castle allows, since from here the protection of the city was ensured, appreciating all the attack fronts from above; just as the company must exercise control over all the edges of its environment for the development of effective strategies.
Understanding that the company needs a strategy that gives it a destination, we consider that, to achieve success on its journey, it must connect critical processes and technological systems transversally as tools, as well as the people involved in a multidisciplinary environment, creating a culture with character and peripheral vision.
During his career, Richard Araya has moved between theory and practice, applying solutions to improve performance in positions such as: Regional Managers, General Managers, Independent Directors, Operations and Project Managers, along with his work as Senior Consultant in Strategy, Risk and Claims Management.
Hence its inspiration in Hume, the combination of theory and practice generates solutions and that is our goal at Inverness Business Consulting, to help improve the harmony of processes to achieve the success expected by our clients.
